My name is Darren Thompson.  I graduated from Auburn University in 1983 with a bachelor of chemical engineering degree.  I have worked as a government engineer in the rocket propulsion area for about the last twenty years.  I currently live in Madison, Alabama with is located just outside Huntsville.  I have been teaching Sunday School classes at Wall Highway Baptist Church for about the last twenty years and I have also taught the "cycle" (this is my description for teaching every age group from kindergarten up to adult).  Since 2004 I have been writing on Old Testament history and biblical prophecy.  I have published two books through a self-publishing website (lulu.com): The Fourth Day: Why the Bible is Historically Accurate (ISBN 978430304531) and Why the Bible is Historically Accurate (2nd. Ed.) (ISBN 9781430310624).  I have also written twenty articles that I have published at ezinearticles.com. 

I married my wife Deborah when I began my career in St. Louis, Mo.  My son, Sean, and My daughter, Sarah, both attend the University of Alabama (in Tuscaloosa).

I just completed my first book on biblical prophecy called Living in the Age of the Ram and the Goat.  I examine in this book how I believe the current events that are happening in Iran were described by the prophet Daniel in the Old Testament when he wrote about his vision of the ram and the goat (located in the book of Daniel, chapter 8).  If you would like more details about my book click About My Book . 

I submitted my book to Defender Publishing and it was quickly reviewed and accepted.  I was told this was the only manusript that they had accepted from January to February of 2010.  This was a very exciting prospect for me since I have only been able to self-publish my books so far (this is the third book I have written in six years).  Defender Publishing has an excellent marketing program; I would have the opportunity to have radio and tv interviews, participate in book conventions, etc.   When they accepted my book they also offered me a very attractive royalty package.  The only caveat in the contract was since I was an unknown author I would have to preorder 1000 books before I could sign the contract.  This is where I could use your help.
